Abstract
One of the many attractive aspects of oral history is that it brings together people from a variety of backgrounds--museums and record offices, various sectors of education, social services, broadcasting and local history societies, to mention a few. It would also appear that the more one becomes involved in oral history, the wider the circle of sinterest groups becomes and the greater the capacity there is to learn from each other. Librarians in the UK and abroad are actively involved in oral history. This article explores their level of involvement in general terms and suggests possible areas for development in the future.
