Abstract
The article discusses the author's use of Team-Based Learning (TBL) where students prepare for a topic before it is covered in class. Topics discussed include TBL as an active learning instructional strategy where students are placed into stable teams during a course, the assignment of readings accompanied by instructor prepared reading guides for students to intelligently discuss course material and similarity of TBL to flipped classroom where rote learning is done outside the classroom.
