Abstract
A model is proposed for the calculation of power and energy characteristics of pulse CO/sub 2/ lasers. Dependence of the output energy of the input energy, and on the composition and pressure of the active medium and obtained and discussed for the case of excitation by a self-sustaining discharge. The best agreement between the calculated and experimental results is obtained at low values of the specific energy input. (AIP)
