Abstract
This study aims to assess the current state of Korean dance education in domestic acting-related departments, identify practical issues in Korean dance education, and derive improvement measures. Therefore, the conclusions of this research are as follows: First, tailored curricula aligned with the students' levels and needs should be provided. Second, to deepen students' understanding of Korean culture and arts through Korean dance education, theoretical instruction should be strengthened to cover the history, cultural background, and traditional significance of Korean dance. Third, the objectives and content of Korean dance education should be clearly defined and enhanced, establishing stronger connections with modern acting education to contribute to substantial improvement in acting skills. Fourth, systematic warm-up and injury prevention programs for physical fitness enhancement and injury prevention should be incorporated into Korean dance classes before and after instruction. Fifth, the content of Korean dance education should encompass various genres of Korean dance, enabling acting majors to familiarize themselves with diverse styles and movements. In summary, this research recommends implementing these measures to address the identified issues in Korean dance education within domestic acting-related departments. Additionally, we hope for continued in-depth discussions and research to ensure that Korean dance can offer even more useful and effective education for acting majors.
