Abstract
This study investigates the influence of module configuration on internal fluid dynamics in chemical reaction modules for catalytic reactions through numerical analysis. Specifically, the analysis focuses on the effects of mixing modules and diffusion modules on the chemical reaction system. The analysis of the mixing module system is computed using a concentration equation. The analysis reveals that the mixing module exhibits superior mixing performance, despite having a higher pressure drop. A computational numerical analysis was conducted depending on the presence or absence of a baffle in the mixing module. Upon comparing the velocity contour in the cross-section for these two cases, a significant difference was observed. It demonstrates the spreading of fluid over a wider area as it passes through the mixing module. These findings emphasize the significant advantage of achieving high mixing performance, while offsetting the increased pressure drop.
