Abstract
A 45-year-old man admitted to our hospital due to liver dysfunction and eruption on his extremities. Laboratory findings revealed elevation of serum transaminase and positivity for hepatitis B surface antigen and IgM-type anti-hepatitis B core antibody. He was diagnosed as Gianotti-Crosti syndrome due to acute hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection because of the typical eruption symptoms and serum HBV markers. Following admission, serum transaminase improved to normal range and the eruption gradually improved. Although the majority of Gianotti-Crosti syndrome cases are seen in pediatric patients, adult cases have been reported. We need to pay attention to the typical skin findings of Gianotti-Crosti syndrome.
