Abstract
As a part of study on primer used for dentin adhesion, seven kinds of methacrylate monomers shown in Fig.1, having a pyrrolidone ring or acetamide group as a hydrophilic moiety, were prepared and studied for their hydrophilicity by measuring the partition coefficient in octhanol/water, their cytotoxicity by the cell culture method and their effect on adhesion between the MMA/PMMA-TBBO resin and dentin.The partition coefficient of the monomers was 2.6〜20.5, which was similar to the value corresponding to 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)and MMA.The cytotoxicity of the monomers increased in the following order:(MMA)
