Abstract
Functional conduction block facilitating the occurrence of re-entry in rabbit left ventricular epicardium may be initiated by shortening, especially by dispersion of refractoriness during infusion of potassium-channel openers. This is the implication of an experiment that aims to determine whether facilitation of re-entry by potassium-channel openers is related to dispersion of refractoriness and/or modification of anisotropic properties of the ventricular myocardium.
