Abstract
Evolving project economics and reduce the construction investment is one of the important aspects which must be considered for UHV transmission engineering development. The UHV substation can cancel bus bar MOA by analyzing the lightning incoming wave of 4 substations Huainan-Shanghai UHV transmission project. Research conclusion is applied to the project. But with the development of large-scale construction UHV project, some special UHV substation’s bus bar need MOA to limited the lightning incoming wave overvoltage (Zhebei to Fuzhou project Fuzhou substation). The UHV substation always use four-column bus bar MOA to restraining lighting incoming overvoltage. The absorbed energy of bus bar MOA is less and time of current in bus bar MOA is short. It is significant economic benefits if the UHV substation use single-column MOA as the quarter investment of four-column GIS MOA. (15 million RMB per set). This paper calculated and analyzed the lightning incoming surges to Wanzhou substations of Yaan-Wuhan UHV transmission project and studied on the feasibility and security of single-column MOA at bus bar. The results show that the maximum lightning incoming overvoltage at all equipment is within the permitted range. And the reliability of lightning protection can be accepted for the project.
