Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the role of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) signaling on the interaction between thyroid hormone and the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathways to regulate the proliferation and differentiation of growth plate chondrocytes. Results of the study showed that IGF-1 and the IGF-1 receptor stimulated the expression of Wnt-4 and the activation of ß-catenin in growth plate chondrocytes.
