This article discusses the clinical presentation, severity, and mortality rates of patients with de novo (DNHF-CS) and acute-on-chronic (ACHF-CS) heart failure-related cardiogenic shock. The study, conducted across five European countries, found that patients with ACHF-CS were more likely to be men and had more cardiac risk factors and comorbidities. They also had greater severity of shock and higher mortality rates compared to those with DNHF-CS.
