Abstract
This article discusses the clinical presentation, severity, and mortality rates of patients with de novo (DNHF-CS) and acute-on-chronic (ACHF-CS) heart failure-related cardiogenic shock. The study, conducted across five European countries, found that patients with ACHF-CS were more likely to be men and had more cardiac risk factors and comorbidities. They also had greater severity of shock and higher mortality rates compared to those with DNHF-CS. The article highlights the importance of understanding the different subtypes of heart failure-related cardiogenic shock and the potential benefits of early use of advanced therapies. However, the study has limitations, and future research should incorporate updated classification systems to improve understanding and treatment of this condition. [Extracted from the article]
