Abstract
In the article, the author discusses the condition called encephalitis and the need for nurses to understand the disease to appreciate the urgency needed for its diagnosis and treatment. She presents her own experiences in learning about the neurological condition while working as a specialist research nurse at the Liverpool Brain Infections Group in 2012. Also cited are the need for nurses to identify possible encephalitis cases for chances of long-term recovery among patients.
