Abstract
Cardiovascular complications of obesity are numerous and considered critical aspects of human health. A number of these complications are considered in this paper including obesity cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension and sleep apnea, hypertension and dyslipidemia associated with obesity. Primary care clinicians caring for overweight and/or obese pediatric patients much be cognizant of such potential complications and work to effectively manage the state of obesity to minimize cardiovascular complications, thereby allowing healthier childhood/later adulthood.
