Abstract
Summary: In chapter 5, I examine some properties of names, and in particular of names of propositions. I argue that a deflationary theory based on T sentences must have a particular kind of name, and that they cannot. To avoid the problems, a theory must revise its ambitions to be something less than a theory of truth, such as a semantic of the use of 'true', perhaps. Hence, deflationary theories that depend on the T sentences must be something less than deflated correspondence if they are to avoid serious difficulties.
