Abstract
A meta-analysis examined the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation on physiologic and functional measurements in patients with heart failure. The results suggest that neuromuscular electrical stimulation had a positive effect on peak oxygen uptake, quality of life, muscle strength, endothelial function, and depressive symptoms and could be considered for inclusion in cardiac rehabilitation.
