Abstract
Considers the impact of the FSA's Code of Market Conduct introduced on December 1, 2001 in response to the market abuse provisions of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Examines the guidance available on the areas of concern highlighted by the FSA including trading on the grey market, wash trades, the pre hedging of convertible bonds and short selling. Refers to the possible impact of the proposal for a European Parliament and Council Directive on insider dealing and market manipulation (market abuse).
