Highlights some of the practical issues which need to be considered in deciding where to base a family office which offers financial and legal services to high net worth individuals and families, including access to clients, a stable legal and political system, how the jurisdiction is viewed by tax and regulatory bodies, tax issues and availability of trained staff. Lists the advantages of Jersey as a base.
