Abstract
Examines the Court of Appeal judgment in Crawford v Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust that two nurses, who were long-serving and had no disciplinary record, had been unfairly dismissed for misconduct after allegations were made that they inappropriately restrained a dementia patient and they were immediately suspended for six months. Highlights the need for employers to act "reasonably" in disciplinary cases where an employee's career could be at risk.
