Abstract
Discusses the findings of research exploring the link between the risk of medical malpractice claims and the health outcomes of US patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction (AMI), based on the higher likelihood of defensive medicine being practiced in states where rates of malpractice claims are high. Considers the implications of the research.
