Abstract
The taphonomical methodology applied to small mammal can recognize the agents processes and mechanisms taphonomic that have been involved in the formation of a given fossil assemblage.The main objectives of this study are to identify and describe the palaeoenvironmental features of Sierra de Atapuerca and taphosystem karst along the Lower Pleistocene. For this study, from a taphonomic point of view, the remains of small mammals from the Pleistocene levels of the Sima del Elefante (TE9 to TE14) and Grand Dolina (TD5 and TD6 levels).
