Abstract
El complejo termal de la ciudad hispanorromana de Valeria fue construido en el siglo I d.C. y se mantuvo en uso continuado durante al menos tres siglos. Tras su abandono, el edificio no fue arrasado ni sus materiales constructivos expoliados, aunque sí se detectan acciones puntuales de rapiña sobre todo de elementos metálicos. Esta circunstancia ha permitido recuperar gran parte de la decoración marmórea que formaba parte del programa decorativo de sus espacios fríos, identificando los diferentes elementos que lo componían, así como la procedencia de los materiales marmóreos en los que estaban elaborados, constatándose una procedencia mayoritamiamente hispana, pero también de diversos lugares del entorno del Mediterráneo La información obtenida con el estudio de los elementos marmóreos se complementa con los huecos y marcas conservados en las estructuras murarias, lo que ha permitido proponer un esquema compositivo y una recreación del aspecto que pudo tener la sala mejor conservada del complejo termal durante su época de uso.
