De Gallípoli a Céfiso: desarrollo militar, político e ideológico de la compañía catalana (1303-1312)

Abstract
La compañía catalana es conocida a menudo como una hueste de mercenarios que acabó por determinar el destino del imperio bizantino y la entrada de la corona de Aragón en el escenario oriental. Los estudios relacionados con este tema son numerosos, aun así, pocas veces se ha entrado en las cuestiones ligadas a la propia realidad de la hueste. En la presente tesis, estamos interesados en estudiar el fenómeno de la hueste desde dentro, partiendo de las crónicas y contraponiéndolas a las recopilaciones de fuentes documentales junto a otros estudios. Presentamos así una realidad muy compleja en relación con la composición de la tropa, sus expectativas, sus técnicas, la financiación de la expedición y su evolución interna que provocó el enfrentamiento entre la aristocracia y los estratos no nobiliarios de la compañía. En este punto, cronísticia e ideología de los autores y su concepción del mundo resultan ser fundamentales para poder entender este desarrollo interno y, finalmente, hasta qué punto el lazo con Aragón y Sicília era tan fuerte como Ramon Muntaner quiso hacer creer a sus lectores.
The catalan company often is known like a host of mercenaries that determined the fate of the byzantine empire and the entrance of the aragonese crown in the easter stage. The studies related with this topic are numerous and eve so, it has rarely been entered into the issue related with the internal reality of the host itself. In the present thesis, we're interested to study the phenomenon of the host starting from the chronicles and opposing them to the documental recopilations and other studies. We present a complex reality related with composition of the troop, their expectations, their tèchniques, the financing of the expedition and the internal evolution that provoked the confrontation between aristocracy and the comon people o fthe low soldiers in the company. Chronicles and the ideology of the authors and their world's conception turn out to be fundamental to understand the internal develope of this host and, finally, if te real bond with Aragon and Sicily was as strong as Ramon Muntaner wanted to make his readers belive.
