Abstract
I started using a Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) analysis/design tool two years ago in the Administrative Data Processing Division (ADP) and have observed that the way I approach my job has changed. The end product is the same, but the product is derived differently. The ability to change what is done gives freedom to experiment and iterate. This freedom has changed some steps and resequenced others in arriving at a structured specification for a new system. Additionally, the analysis capability of the tools allow the performance of work that was often disregarded because it was either too tedious or overwhelming. This presentation will address the changes observed in the process of analysis and design using CASE. 2 figs.
