Through a discussion of the development of her room-sized multisensory installations, the author describes the impact of modern technology and materials on her work and the development of her thought. The artist begins by discussing several important precursors who have influenced her artistically and philosophically. In addition to addressing the historical interaction between the visual arts, music and technology in her work, the artist also gives a brief description of the new directions her work is taking in the 1990s.
