본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 시대 새로운 디지털 미디어 기반 음악교육용 콘텐츠를 탐색하고, 각 특징을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 음악교육에서 활용할 수 있는 디지털 미디어 기반 음악교육용 콘텐츠의 종류로는 소통을 원활하게 하는 교육플랫폼, 영상을 편집할 수 있는 응용 소프트웨어 프로그램, 실감형 매체인 가상현실 및 증강현실, 인공지능 기반의 음악 애플리케이션 등이 있다. 본 연구는 문헌분석의 연구방법을 통해 첫째, 디지털 미디어와 관련한 음악교육 문헌을 고찰함으로써 4차 산업혁명 시대 교육의 방향을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 14종의 디지털 미디어 기반 음악교육용 콘텐츠를 탐색하고, 이러한 콘텐츠들이 음악교육적으로 어떤 특징을 지니고 있는지를 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 음악교육과 관련하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 14종의 디지털 미디어 기반 음악교육용 콘텐츠는 모두 음악 수업에서 유용한 학습 도구가 된다는 점, 둘째, 디지털 미디어의 개념적 층위에 있어 정련화가 필요하다는 점, 셋째, 디지털 미디어를 활용함에 있어서 음악의 본질적 내용이 소실되지 않아야 한다는 점, 넷째, 익명의 가상공간에서 타인을 배려하는 윤리 문화가 함양되어야 한다는 점이다. 본 연구는 음악교육학자들과 학교 현장의 교사들로 하여금 디지털 미디어 기반의 음악교육용 콘텐츠가 어떻게 새로운 교수·학습 방법적 의의와 특징을 지니는지 탐구하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다.
The study explores the content of the digital-media–based music education introduced in the 4th industrial-revolution era and examines its characteristics. The digital-media–based music education content that can be used in music education cover educational platforms that facilitate communication, application-software programs to edit videos, virtual reality and augmented reality, and artificial-intelligence–based music applications. This study examines the direction of education in the 4th industrial-revolution era by first examining music-education literature related to digital media through a literature analysis. Second, 14 types of digital-media–based music education content are explored and their characteristics relevant to music education are examined. The conclusions obtained are as follows. First, all the 14 types of digital-media–based music education content are deemed to be useful learning tools in music classes. Second, refining is required at the conceptual level of digital media. Third, the essential content of music should not be lost when using digital media, and fourth, an ethical culture that considers others should be cultivated in an anonymous virtual space. This study will help music educators and teachers explore the significance of the content and characteristics of digital-media–based music education in new teaching and learning methods.
