Abstract
Recent reports will significantly alter the way in which the dental profession is regulated in future. These include the chief medical officerʼs report Good doctors, safer patients, the report entitled The regulation of the non-medical healthcare professions (Foster Report) and a consultation document from the General Dental Council (GDC) called Fitness to Practise Guidance for the Professional Performance Committee, Health Committee and on Preliminary Meetings (http://www.gdc-uk.org/).
