American, 19th – 20th century, female. Active also active in France. Born 6 December 1858, in Altmar (New York State); died 1947, in Palo Alto (California). Painter. Portraits, genre scenes, landscapes, still-lifes, miniatures. Minerva Chapman studied under Annie Shaw and at the Chicago Art Institute.
