이 논문에서는 다양한 사회경제 지표와 각종 여론조사 결과를 이용하여 코로나19 발생 이후 변화한 러시아 사회와 국민 인식을 살펴보았다. 코로나19 발생으로 인한 러시아의 사회경제적 악화 수준은 1990년대 시장 개혁 과도기 이래 가장 나쁜 수준이거나 2008년 세계금융위기와 2014년 서방의 경제 제재 시기와 유사한 수준이라고 할 수 있다. 그런데 주목할 부분은 코로나19 발생 이후 사회경제적 상황이 악화하는 속도가 매우 빨랐다는 점이다. 그러한 점에서 사회에 주는 충격이 상당히 컸다고 평가할 수 있다. 여론조사 결과에서 나타난 러시아 국민의 인식 역시 심각성을 드러냈다. 러시아 국민의 경제적 고통과 불만은 결국 정치 권력에 대한 비판으로 이어졌다. 푸틴 대통령이 2000년 취임한 이래 아무리 지지율이 낮아도 60%대를 유지했지만, 2020년에 처음으로 60% 아래인 59%로 지지율이 낮아지는 일이 벌어졌다. 이것은 국민이 코로나19 혹은 경제 상황 자체를 문제로 보기보다는 그동안 정부에 대한 누적된 불만이 폭발했기 때문에 나타난 현상으로 볼 수 있다.
This thesis examines the change in Russian society and public perception after Corona 19 using various socio-economic indicators and the results of various opinion polls. The level of socio-economic deterioration in Russia due to COVID-19 is the largest since the market reform transition period in the 1990s, or at least similar to the 2008 global financial crisis and Western economic sanctions in 2014. However, it is noteworthy that the socio-economic situation at the time of COVID-19 deteriorated very quickly. In that respect, it can be evaluated that the impact on society was quite large. The opinion of the Russian people in the results of the opinion poll also revealed seriousness. The economic pain and dissatisfaction of the Russian people eventually led to criticism of political power. Since Putin took office in 2000, the approval rating has remained in the 60% range no matter how low the approval rating is, but in 2020, the approval rating fell to 59%, the first time below 60%. This can be seen as a phenomenon that has occurred because the accumulated dissatisfaction with the government has exploded, rather than the public viewing the Corona 19 or the economic situation itself as a problem.
