Abstract
Ineodaebang of Tsukuba University(ITU) was a Korean textbook for Japanese speakers while Ineodaebang of Seoul National University(ISU) was a Japanese textbook for Korean speakers. Both of them were assumed to be the textbooks for learning the ‘writing' and ‘reading' Korean and Japanese, respectively in order to write the official letter for diplomatic communication. In addition, as the phonological information was included in ITU, it might be used as a textbook for speaking. ITU was made up the letters which were written by the Korean interpreters in the early years of the 18th century and which was com- plied by Hukuyama Denggoro (副山傳五郞). The existing copy of ITU was transcribed in the late years of the 18th century based on the modifying version of the copy which was published in 1751. As ISU was a Japanese textbook in order to improve Japanese inter- preters' reading and writing skills in the 18th century, it was made on the basis of ITU but the table of contents, the article in the contents, the sentence structures the article, words, phonological information, written methods, and etc were changed. The time when these two books were published is datable considering the contents of these two books, lan- guages, and the sound changes such as in particular the phonological change of ‘ㆍ[Λ]>ㅏ[a], the palatalization, and the vowel rounding.
