급속한 도시화로 인해 사람들의 소득 수준이 높아짐과 동시에 라이프스타일도 꾸준히 변화하고 있다. 이에 따라 호텔 이용객의 이용목적도 단순한 숙박보다는 휴식과 더불어 피로 해소 및 스트레스 감소를 목적으로 하는 등으로 변화하고 있는 추세이다. 수많은 선행연구들을 통해 자연요소를 실내로 도입한 바이오필릭 디자인은 피로 해소, 스트레스 감소 등에 적극적인 효과를 나타내고 있음에 따라 호텔에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 공간으로 볼 수 있는 공공 공간인 로비에 바이오필릭 디자인 요소를 적용할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최근에 지어진 5성급 호텔의 로비공간에서 바이오필릭 디자인 표현 요소와 속성이 어느정도 적용되었는지 실태를 조사하고 로비 내의 휴게공간, 서비스공간, 이동공간에서 바이오필릭 디자인의 공간관계 특성이 어떻게 제공되고 있는 공간배치 및 특성을 조사하여 로비공간의 이용자 이용형태와의 관계를 분석하였다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로 문헌고찰, 사례조사, 현장 관찰조사가 이루어졌으며, 종합적인 결과를 토대로 호텔 로비공간의 바이오필릭 디자인 적용된 개선점과 더불어 향후 발전 시 주의점을 제안하였다. 이에 대한 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 최근 호텔 로비공간에 바이오필릭 디자인의 실내표현 요소가 적용되고 있지만, 대부분의 호텔 모두 서로 유사한 부분적인 요소에만 집중하고 있어 서로 비슷한 결과를 보이고 있다. 따라서 공간에 더욱 다양한 디자인, 혹은 장식물로 공간을 풍부하게 만들고 자연 친화력을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 둘째, 일부 호텔 로비공간의 전반적인 시각적 개방도와 통합도가 낮음아 공간의 개방성과 단위공간의 접근성이 떨어지는 편이다. 이에 공간배치에 전반적인 개방성과 공간 간 연결성을 고려하여 공간 깊이감을 보장함과 동시에 중앙 공간에만 머무는 상황을 피할 수 있도록 공간 계획을 진행할 필요가 있다. 특히 면적이 비교적 작은 호텔의 경우, 답답한 느낌이 발생하지 않도록 공간의 개방감을 중시할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 로비 층이 고층에 위치한 일부 호텔의 엘리베이터 홀에 적용된 외부로 향한 전망이 별로 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 고층 건축의 장점을 활용해 이동공간을 통한 외부로 향한 시야는 더욱 개방감이 갖도록 할 수 있으며, 이는 호텔공간 이미지에 상당히 적극적인 영향을 끼치게 될 것이다. 넷째, 휴게공간의 개방도와 접근성은 이용자의 이용형태에 직접적인 영향을 끼쳐 휴게공간의 우수한 전망과 더불어 용이한 접근성을 갖추는 게 무엇보다 중요하다. 다만, 과도한 개방보다 공간 단계로 공간의 기능에 따라 일부만 열리고 부분적으로는 피난처와 같은 공간도 제공하여서 공간의 깊이감, 개방성을 조절하여 연결도를 유지하면 더욱 다양한 욕구를 수용해 줄 수 있다. 결론적으로 호텔공간에 바이오필릭 디자인을 더욱 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있으며 이에 대한 타당한 적용을 위해서는 공간의 특징을 살펴 바이오필릭 디자인의 각 요소를 전면적으로 고려해야 하며, 특히 공간구조의 접근성 등을 전반적으로 적용할 필요가 있다.
Along with the rapid development of urbanization, people's income level continuously improves, and their life-style is changing as well. As a consequence, the purpose of using of hotel guests has also transformed from simple accommodation into relaxation and allaying tiredness. Via a large number of studies, introducing natural elements into the room has effective results such as allaying tiredness and reducing stress. As a result, it is necessary to use the most public sphere in the hotel, the lobby space, which is appropriate for the Biophilic design elements. In this study, we taked the places where the hotel space requires to alter and the Biophilic design elements suitable for the hotel lobby space as the center, the expressive elements applicable to space interior design and the spatial relation elements reflecting spatial structures，and the influence of Biophilic design on passengers' using shapes are analyzed. For this purpose, literature reviews and field case studies were conducted. The analysis results are as follows Firstly, the recent hotel lobby design energetically employs the indoor performance elements of Biophilic design. However, the elements that a majority of hotels employ are similar. Therefore, in space, there ought to have even more manifold designs or decorations, thereby enriching the space, and improving the natural affinity. Secondly, the overall visual opening degree and comprehensiveness of part of hotel lobby spaces are lower, and the openness of space and the accessibility of unit space are lower. Therefore, in terms of spatial arrangement, in consideration of the overall openness and connectivity among spaces. Particularly for hotels with comparatively small areas. Thirdly, in accordance with the analysis, the lobby for the upper part of the hotel elevator lobby applicable to the external outlook is pessimistic. Taking advantage of high-rise buildings' strengths, improving the openness of field of view of mobile space, letting space users have the experience of asynchronous scene-change. Fourthly, the primary rest spaces of some hotels are for-profit spaces such as coffee stores. In accordance with observation and investigation, it is informed that the visual connectivity of rest spaces in some hotels is relatively weak. Enhancing the visual connectivity of the rest zone can effectively promote the communication frequency of space users and has the function of promotion of the use ratio of space. In the final analysis, it is necessary to energetically make use of Biophilic design in hotel space. For rational application, it is necessary to observe the spatial features and take into account the various elements of the Biophilic design in an all-round way, particularly the interrelationship between the use of elements based on the space structure and the user's using shapes, so as to design the space reasonably.
