Abstract
본 연구는 MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시 능력이 공동체 의식과 정치효능감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위한 것으로 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같이 세 가지 연구문제를 선정하였다. 첫째, MZ세대의 배경변인에 따른 뉴스 리터러시, 공동체 의식, 정치효능감의 차이는 어떠한가? 둘째, MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시가 공동체 의식에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 셋째, MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시가 정치효능감에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 본 연구에서는 서울 경기 권 청년과 대학생 집단의 도움을 받아 MZ세대 연령을 표본 집단 대상으로 선정하였다. 설문조사 기간은 2021년 11월 1일부터 11월 7일까지 온라인 설문지를 이용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 전체 309부의 온라인 설문지가 회수되었으며, 모든 설문이 유효한 응답으로 판단되어 309부의 설문지를 분석하여 연구에 사용하였다. 자료 통계분석은 SPSS WIN 25.0 통계 방법으로 빈도분석 및 다중응답 분석으로 조사하였고, 배경 변인에 따른 뉴스 리터러시, 공동체 의식, 정치효능감의 차이 분석을 위해 t-test, One way ANOVA를 실시하고 Scheffé test로 사후 검정하였다. 세 변인 간의 상관 관계분석 및 다중회귀분석의 방법으로 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, MZ세대의 배경 변인에 따른 뉴스 리터러시, 공동체 의식, 정치효능감의 차이는 성별, 연령, 최종 학력, 직업, 디지털 활용능력, 하루 인터넷이용시간 및 뉴스이용시간, 뉴스 이용 매체, 인터넷뉴스 관심 분야, 사회적 이슈 발생 시 정보습득 노력 정도, 뉴스 주제 대화 토론 여부, 뉴스 관련 이슈 공유 여부, 사회적 이슈 등에 댓글 및 공감 여부에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시는 공동체 의식에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 뉴스 리터러시의 하위요인 공정성 판단, 생산 보도의 상업성 판단, 내용의 신뢰성과 타당성 판단, 표현의 객관성 판단이 대안에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 통제는 구성원 의식, 영향의식, 정서적 연계, 공익추구적 태도, 사회적 참여의식에 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시는 정치효능감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 회귀계수의 유의성 검증결과 뉴스 리터러시의 하위요인 공정성 판단, 생산 보도의 상업성 판단, 내용의 신뢰성과 타당성 판단, 표현의 객관성 판단이 내적 정치효능감, 외적 정치효능감과도 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때 MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시 능력이 높을수록 공동체 의식과 정치효능감에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 MZ세대의 뉴스 리터러시 함양을 위해 평생교육의 교육 분야 확대를 통한 지속적인 뉴스 리터러시 교육의 필요성이 요구된다.
The purpose of study was to examine the effect of the MZ generation's news literacy ability on the sense of community and political efficacy. Three questions were raised to achieve this study purpose. First, what is the effect of the MZ generation's news literacy on the sense of community? Second, what is the effect of the MZ generation's news literacy on political efficacy? Third, is there any difference in news literacy, sense of community, and political efficacy according to the individual characteristics of the MZ generation? In this study, with the help of a group of young people and college students from Gyeonggi-do, and Seoul, the age of the MZ generation was selected as the sample group. The survey period was conducted from November 1 to November 7, 2021 through an online questionnaire. Among the survey respondents, 309 online questionnaire responses were collected, and all questionnaires were judged to be significant responses, and 309 questionnaires were analyzed and used for the study. Data statistical analysis was performed with frequency analysis and multiple response analysis using the SPSS WIN 25.0 statistical method. To analyze the differences in news literacy, community consciousness, and political efficacy according to background variables, t-test and one-way ANOVA were performed, and Scheffé test was implemented, and verified ex parte. Correlation analysis between three variables and multiple regression analysis were performed. The study results are as follows. First, the news literacy of the MZ generation also appeared to have a statistically significant effect on political efficacy. As a result of the significance test of the regression coefficient, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the judgment of fairness of sub-factors of news literacy, judgment of commercial feasibility of production reporting, judgment of reliability, feasibility of content, and judgment of objectivity of expression with internal political efficacy and external political efficacy. Second, the differences in news literacy, sense of community, and political efficacy according to the background variables of the MZ generation were related to gender, age, final educational background, occupation, digital aptitude, daily internet use and news use, news reading frequency, news media. There were statistically significant differences in comments and sympathy for Internet news interests, degree of effort to acquire information when social issues occur, whether to discuss news topics, whether to share news-related issues, and whether to agree with social issues. Third, the news literacy of the MZ generation was found to have a statistically significant effect on the sense of community. Sub-factors of news literacy judgment of fairness, judgment of commerciality of production report, judgment of reliability, feasibility of content, judgment of objectivity of expression have a significant effect on alternatives, and control have significant effects on member consciousness, influence consciousness, emotional connection, public interest-seeking attitude. It was confirmed to have a statistically significant positive effect on the social participation consciousness. According to the results of this study, it was confirmed that the higher the news literacy ability of the MZ generation is, the more a significant effect on the sense of community and political efficacy incurs. Therefore, there is a need for continuous news literacy education through the expansion of lifelong education in order to cultivate the news literacy of the MZ generation.

Therefore, there is a need for continuous news literacy education through the expansion of lifelong education in order to cultivate the news literacy of the MZ generation.
