본 연구는 대학생들을 대상으로 성차별적 태도가 젠더혐오표현 인식에 미치는 영향에 대해 탐구함으로써, 최근 사회적 문제로 대두되고 있는 젠더혐오 관련 문제의 원인을 파악하고 해결 방안 모색을 통해 사회 발전에 기여함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서 다루는 젠더혐오표현이란 여성혐오와 남성혐오와 관련 있는 혐오표현들을 통칭한다. 본 연구에서는 성차별적 태도를 유의한 영향 요인으로 보고, 남녀 대학생 (N=218)에게 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 이들의 성차별적 태도 측정을 위해 Swims 등(1995)의 Old-fashioned sexism과 Modern sexism에 관한 척도를 번역하여 사용하였고, T 검정과 다중 회귀 분석 등을 통하여 가설을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 젠더혐오 인식 수준은 젠더혐오표현에 대한 수용적 태도에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 남성의 경우 성차별적 태도가 피해자 비난경향에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 본 연구에는 젠더혐오의 개념 정립 및 측정에 관한 한계점이 존재한다. 성차별적 태도를 여성혐오의 한 영역으로 볼 수 있기 때문이다. 이후 진행될 후속연구에서는 젠더혐오와 성차별의 개념이 명백히 구분될 수 있는 구체적인 조작적 정의가 필요하며, 젠더혐오의 개념정립과 더불어 젠더혐오를 측정할 수 있는 타당한 척도 개발이 필요하다. 이와 같이 젠더혐오 현상을 다차원적으로 이해하기 위한 시도가 진행된다면, 본 연구는 젠더혐오의 행동적 발현을 예방할 수 있는 교육적 방안 마련에 유용한 기초연구로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of gender discrimination on gender-hate attitudes on the perception and the study contributes to the development of society by identifying the cause of problems related to Gander-Aversion, which has recently emerged as a social problem, and seeking solutions. The Gender-Hate expression refers the expressions associated with female aversion(misogyny) and male aversion(misandry). In this study, sexist attitudes were considered as a significant influence factor and a self-reporting survey was conducted on university students (N=218). Studies have shown that the level of Gender-Aversion awareness has a significant effect on the acceptance attitudes toward gender-hate expression, and that gender-discrimination attitude has a significant effect on the victim's tendency to blame. However, there are limitations on this study that the conceptualization and measurement of gender–aversion. This is because sexist attitudes can be seen as an area of misogyny. Therfore, This study can be used as a basic research to prepare an educational method to prevent the behavioral manifestation of gender-aversion, if the attempt to understand the gender- aversion phenomenon is continues in a multidimensional manner.
