Abstract
AI Virtual Personal Assistant (VPA), a software interface designed to interact with a user in a natural way and perform specific tasks on the user’s behalf, has been accomplished the rapid growth of technology over last decades. Despite of its technological innovation, the acceptance of the technology is determined by its users upon their evaluations. The objective of this research is to explain the users’ evaluations on VPA under the theoretical framework of Technology Acceptance Model (perceived usefulness and ease of use) along with three more precedent factors (perceived entertainment, perceived trustworthiness, and perceived risk). The results suggest that the users who perceive more PU, PEOU, PE, and PT gives higher overall value on VPA, and the value positively influences the attitude toward VPA. Yet, PR gives no meaningful influence on the overall value of VPA. Implications as well as potential explanations are further discussed.
