소규모 이유자돈사용 입기구의 개발 / Development of an Air Inlet for Small-scale Weaning Piglet Houses

Abstract
This study was conducted to review the applicability of newly developed passively automatic air inlet to the small-scale weaning piglet houses. For this study, the performance evaluation for the two types of conventional air inlets and one type of newly developed air inlet was accomplished. The evaluation items were the average exit velocities, opening areas, airflow rates, and exit velocity profiles. The conventional air inlets used in this study were the passively automatic air inlets. One twas the air inlet of A Co. with spring-loaded baffle, and the other was the air inlet of B Co. with counter-weighted baffle. And the newly developed air inlet was the passively automatic air inlets with counter-weighted baffle and fixed opening area. According to the results of performance evaluation, it is estimated that the conventional air inlets can not be applied to small-scale weaning piglet houses because the average exit velocities were much faster than optimum level. However it is expected that the newly developed air inlet can be applied to small-scale weaning piglet houses because the average exit velocities were kept proper level. Therefore, a field test for the weaning piglet houses is needed in further study.
