유비쿼터스 학습(u-Learning) 사례분석 및 시사점 / Ubiquitous Learning: Cases Analysis and Implication

Abstract
유비쿼터스 학습(u-Learning)은 시간과 장소, 환경 등에 상관없이 언제, 어디에서나, 누구나 편리한 방식으로 원하는 학습이 가능한 교육 형태를 말한다. 본 연구는 유비쿼터스 환경에 기반을 둔 새로운 교육방법인 u-Learning에 대한 이해를 돕고, u-Learning 비교 준거인 휴대성, 이동성, 즉시성, 개별화, 그리고 정보 접근의 용이성을 통해 u-Learning을 시행하고 있는 국내·외 사례들 중에서 살펴보고 비교분석하였다. 이를 토대로 u-Learning에 대한 시사점을 하드웨어 측면과 소프트웨어 측면에서 제시하였다. 하드웨어 측면에서는 네트워크 확충 및 u-Learning에 적합한 단말기를 개발하고 보급해야 한다. 그리고 소프트웨어 측면에서는 제한된 콘텐츠의 개발, 교수자-학습자 지원, u-Learning 전문 인력 양성, 평가체제 구축, 그리고 u-Learning에 대한 다각적인 연구와 정부 부처 간 협력프로그램의 필요성을 강조하고 있다. 앞으로 유비쿼터스라는 새로운 패러다임 속에서 교육환경이 진화해야 할 것이며, 이를 위해서는 하드웨어적 측면과 소프트웨어적 측면의 계속적인 변화가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 결국 새로운 패러다임으로써 유비쿼터스 환경을 교육활동에 어떻게 접목시키느냐에 따라 u-Learning이 발전될 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 위에서 드러난 시사점을 통해 체계적인 u-Learning이 도입되면 사회 전반에 획기적인 변화를 이끄는 선구자의 역할을 할 것이며, 앞으로 다가올 시대의 핵심으로 자리매김을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
u-Learning is about the way of education making it possible to learn anything at any time in any place for anybody without the limitation of time, locations, and surroundings.This study gives you an understanding of u-Learning, the new educational system based on ubiquitous technology, and analysis of some domestic and foreign cases where u-Learning is previously adopted in the aspects of mobility, portability, immediacy, individuality and accessibility. Implication about u-Learning brought on by this analysis is suggested on the hardware and software sides.On a hardware basis, u-Learning network should be expanded, and affiliated platforms and devices are ought to be developed with plenty of supplies. It is highlighted that contents development, tutor and student support service, training u-Learning experts, constructing evaluation systems and cooperating programs between government agencies with wide range of researches are necessary at software level.The educational environment should be progressed in the new paradigm, so called "Ubiquitous," and the constant change of hardware and software is prerequisite for this progress. As a result, the growth of u-Learning depends on how to graft ubiquitous technology onto educational activities. If the systematic u-Learning is introduced through the implementation of aforesaid implication which is discussed above, it would take a part as a pioneer which leads the dramatic change over the society and be expected to take up the key role in the upcoming era.
