중국의 스포츠는 역사적으로, 지리적으로, 사회적으로 보아 왔듯이 한국 체육의 발전과 밀접한 연관성을 가지고 있다. 특히 서울올림픽을 경험한 한국과 근년 베이징올림픽을 경험한 중국의 스포츠가 앞으로 어떠한 방향으로 발전할 것인지 주목의 대상이다. 우리 사회에서 스포츠는 중요한 생활문화 중의 하나이다. 스포츠가 포함하고 있는 놀이성은 더욱이 우리들 삶의 중요한 구성 요인이다. 그러나 아직 스포츠를 문화로서 이해하고 그 가치를 발현시키기에는 많은 점에서 미흡한 것 또한 주지의 사실이다. 이 같은 현상 하에서 본 연구는 스포츠를 문화적 관점에서, 중국의 스포츠를 역사적, 실증적으로 분석하여 스포츠 문화의 현 정황을 파악해 보고자 시도하였다. 이 같은 과제 의식은 중국사회 속에서 스포츠 문화가 어떻게 정착되었고 현재 어떻게 이해되고 발전되어지는가에 주목하게 되었다. 이 같은 과제를 규명할 수 있다면, 스포츠 문화가 함의하고 있는 높은 가치를 고양시킬 수 있으며, 장래 합리적이고 과학적으로 바르게 실현될 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 상기와 같은 접근을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출시킬 수 있었다. 먼저, 중국의 고전적 신체문화는 특유의 유교 사상에 기초하고 이으며, 그들의 신체사상은 매우 다채롭고 흥미롭다. 고대 중국의 신체문화는 서양의 문물을 수용하면서 변모하게 되었는데, 그와 같은 수용의 과정에서 서양의 근대스포츠 문화관이 서서히 침투하기 시작하였으며, 이 같은 과정에서 전통적인 스포츠는 점차 그 대중성을 잃어갔음을 엿볼 수 있었다. 서민층, 군대, 교육기관에서는 전통스포츠 문화에 대한 중요성이 인식되어 보존되고 발전되기도 하였다. 둘째, 중국의 체육·스포츠 활동은 사회적인 여건에 의해 여러 가지 형태로 이용되어 왔다. 때로는 열성적인 환호를 받기도 하고, 때로는 다소 소외적인 현상을 엿볼 수 있기도 하다. 이 같은 현상은 정치적, 경제적, 사회적, 사상적, 종교적 의미를 지니고 있었기 때문일 것이다. 이와 같은 현상에 비추어 볼 때, 오늘날의 중국 스포츠는 스포츠 자체가 지향하는 바람직한 목적과 목표를 이탈하고 있다고 볼 수 있는데, 말을 바꾸어 보면, 스포츠를 바르게 인식하지 못한다고 할 수 있으며, 아울러 그 역할과 기능의 정체성이 왜곡되어 있다고 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 중국은 2008년 베이징올림픽 개최가 확정된 후 성공적인 올림픽 개최를 위하여 여러 면에서 정치적, 경제적, 사회적, 문화적인 개혁을 추진하였다. 베이징올림픽 개최와 중국의 변화에 관심을 가질 수밖에 없는 이유는 올림픽 개최를 계기로 중국의 개방이 보다 진전되어 더욱 서구화된다는 것이며, 중국과 국제사회의 상호이해 관계가 크게 진전될 것이기 때문이었다. 이상은 중국 스포츠의 모습은 정치적, 경제적, 사회적 영향을 받으며 새로운 형태로 변용된 문화의 산물로 볼 수 있다.
In traditional, geographic and society, there is close collaborations between Chinese sport and development of Korea’s sport. Especially, Korea that experienced ‘Seoul Olympic’ and China that experienced ‘Beijing Olympic’ are the cynosure that how to develop in future. In Korea, sport is one of the most important living cultures. The amusement that includes in sports is one of the important thing in our life. But it is noted that, insufficient which understanding sport as culture and developing its value. On this, the study tries to sport culture’s circumstantial analysis by sport’s point of view as cultural, historical and positive method. These conscious assignment is focus on that how to settle the sports culture and how to develop and understand nowadays in Chinese society. If these study were investigate, it would boost that high value in undertone of sport culture and is aimed at realization by rational and scientific ways in future. Above this access, we make a result like that. Above all, China's traditional physical culture is based on Confucius ideas, and their physical ideas are very variety and interesting. In ancient Chinese physical culture changed when they accepted western culture, at these time western modern sport culture was absorbed into Chinese culture, We can infer that traditional sport had been lost the popular appeal through this process. In ordinary people, military and education institutions, the importance about traditional sport culture was recognized and developed. Secondly, Chinese physical and sport activities used variety ways by social conditions. Sometimes give an eagerly acclamation, sometimes give an excluded phenomenon. Because of these state, it has a political, economical, ideological, and religious meaning. From the view in this phenomenon, nowadays Chinese sport got out of the view which sport supports desirable goal and purpose, in other words, it misunderstands sport and distorts role and identify of function. Third, after decided to hold in 2008 Beijing Olympic, China carries forward a scheme about political, economical, social and cultural reformation for successful Olympic host. The reason why we can't help concerning about helding Beijing Olympic and changing of China is that China can be opened and become occidentalise more by helding Beijing Olympic also, comflicting interest between China and international society will progress greatly. As above, Chinese sport demonstrates other formed product of culture that influenced by political, economical and social.
