The purpose of this study is to analyze pre-service music teachers' perception on how secondary teacher education programs affect music teaching competency. The research participants were 151 pre-service music teachers from music education undergraduate and graduate programs. The results are as follows. First, teaching domain is the biggest influence on pre-service teachers' perceived education programs followed by professionalism and professional skill/knowledge domain. Second, pre-service teachers in graduate programs give higher ratings in areas such as content knowledge compared to those in undergraduate programs. Third, the programs’ methods classes and educational theoretical perspectives are the biggest factors that affect teaching competency. Last of all, this study proposes that programs need to incorporate more practical classes to enhance teaching competency.
본 연구의 목적은 예비중등음악교사를 대상으로 교사양성프로그램이 음악교수역량에 미치는 영향에 대한 인식을 분석하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 사범계와 교육대학원에 재학 중인 151명의 예비중등음악교사가 설문조사에 참여하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비중등음악교사들이 인식한 교사양성프로그램의 영역별 영향은 교수 영역이 가장 높게 나타났고, 그 뒤를 이어 전문성 영역, 전문기술 및 지식 영역 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교육대학원에 재학 중인 예비중등음악교사는 사범계에 재학 중인 예비중등음악교사보다 교과지식 등의 영역에서 더 높은 평균점수를 드러내었다. 셋째, 음악교수역량에 영향을 미치는 중등교사양성프로그램의 운영체제 및 수업적인 요인으로 교수법 및 지도법 수업, 교육학 이론 등이 가장 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 음악교수역량을 위해서 중등교사양성프로그램이 개선해야 되는 부분으로 실제적인 지식, 임용고시 대비를 위한 특강 및 프로그램 등이 있었다.
