Analysis of Physical Education Teacher Education Curriculum between South Korea and China

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate and compare the physical education and the curriculum of Korea and China, and suggest for the curriculum development of physical education teacher in both countries. For this, Korea-China physical education and curriculum was specifically compared with the method of classifying the types of physical education and subjects of curriculum and analyzing the grades in both countries. The results are as follows; First, in the classification of curriculum type, there are liberal arts (called as general subject in China), major subjects and elective subjects (called as general elective subjects in Korea and discretional elective subjects in China) in both Korea and China in common. But, while there are teaching subjects in Korea, there are practice subjects in China. Second, in the division of the grades, both countries are performing the major subject as main courses, and grade proportion of liberal arts is high in second place, but Korea regards the elective subjects as more important. On the basis of these results, the suggestions for improvement of physical education and curriculum in China are to add the courses of teaching fields and make the selection of grades to be flexible. And the suggestions for improvement of physical education and curriculum in Korea-China are the improvement of education practice, the need of safety education for physical education, emphasis on special physical education, extension of elective subjects and etc.
