Abstract
The importance of Angkor Borei, Cambodia, as a site for archaeological research, is examined, focusing on an ancient cemetery where almost 50 bodies have been excavated that date back as far as 200 BC. Topics include the social importance of the Mekong River, which flows past Angkor Borei; and the importance of Angkor Borei as a cultural and economic center during the first millennium.
