Abstract
Research has been conducted on the Saccharomyces cerevisiae ARE1 and ARE2 genes. Results indicate that transcriptional initiation from the ARE1 promoter is reduced compared to that of the ARE2 promoter and that the half-life of the ARE2 mRNA is longer than that of the ARE1 transcript.
