Abstract
The discovery of a mosaic with simple geometric patterns in Sanliurfa, Turkey led to the discovery of the remains of a large villa spread across more than half an acre and floors covered in mosaics in almost pristine condition. The city was once Edessa which was a major stop on the Silk Road. Archaeologists hope to uncover more mosaics.
