Sound velocities (transverse and longitudinal) have been measured using a pulse echo superposition method at a frequency of 10MHz. The elastic moduli (L, G, K and E), Poisson's ratio (I) and Debye temperature (I[cedilla].sub.D) exhibit composition dependent trends. The variation of these parameters has been explained using a structural motifs present and the dimensionality of the glass network.
