Abstract
Flash evaporation of pyrite powder facilitates the synthesis of iron pyrite thin films, the electrical, optical and structural characteristics of which improve when annealed at temperatures between 250-450 degrees Celsius in a sulfur atmosphere. Enhancing the sulfuration temperature results in the movement of absorption edge toward greater photon energies. Point defect density and size of film grain affect electrical resistivity.
