Abstract
An analysis of the new United Kingdom Pensions Act 2004, which came into effect in April 2004, is presented. The impact of the law on multinational companies with UK subsidiaries, sponsoring defined benefit plans, and the steps these companies need to take up to avoid liabilities, are also discussed.
