Abstract
Chromosome nondisjunction is an improper segregation of chromosomes during meiosis that leads to chromosomally unbalanced eggs or sperm resulting in anueploidy that ultimately accounts for the main reason of fetal loss. Mapping recombination sites in normal and abnormal meioses has made it clear that altered recombination is a major contributor to nondisjunction in humans.
