Abstract
Detailed information about the structural organization of the active gama-secretase complex, an important issue in dissecting the biochemistry of gama-secretase, is described. Four membrane proteins as components of gama-secretase are identified as components of gama-secretase, a heterodimeric form of presenilin (PS), composed of its N- and C-terminal fragments (PS-NTF and PS-CTF respectively), a highly glycosylated, mature form of nicastrin (NCT), Aph-1, and Pen-2.
