Abstract
Kalott, glest virkad av bomullsgarn i randning (uppifrån och ner) lila, röd, rosa, gul, grön, blå, lila och röd. Matchande halsduk; se inv.nr 329.623. /Leif Wallin 2009-02-27
Kalotten är virkad av givaren och använd av givarens man Svante vid Stockholm Pride/Europride 2008 (Stockholm Pride är den största årliga festivalen för HBT-personer i Sverige och 2008 firades 25 jul-3 aug.). De gick tillsammans med nätverket "Stolta föräldrar" i paraden. Givarens son är homosexuell och brukar delta i Pridefirandet sedan några år. Givaren fick idén till att tillverka kalotten och den halsduk (se NM.0329623) hon själv bar, vid förra årets [2007] Pride där hon såg att en en del personer hade gjort egna regnbågsfärgade föremål. Hon tittade på en regnbågsflagga och köpte garn i färger som hon tyckte matchade. Hon föredrar naturmaterial och därför valde hon bomullsgarn. När de bar dem i paraden fick de en del glada leenden när folk såg föremålen, speciellt gällande kalotten. Ända sedan hennes son kom ut som homosexuel för några år sedan har de talat om att de skulle åka till Stockholm och gå i paraden. Men förra året bestämde de att det skulle bli av. De tyckte det var en så häftig upplevelse att de bestämde sig för att gå i år igen, och kommer nog att gå nästa år också. Karin tycker det är gripande att se "mogna människor, vuxna i min egen ålder, lesbiska och bögar, som står och tittar på paraden med tårar i ögonen när de ser Stolta föräldrar". Det är också häftigt med alla applåder och "speciellt när man kommer upp på Södermalm med allt jubel." Karin tycker det är viktigt att gå i paraden för att synas och för att det ännu inte är fullt accepterat att vara HBT-person. The calotte is crocheted by the donor and used by the donor’s husband Svante at Stockholm Pride/EuroK2008 (Stockholm Pride is the largest annual festival for LGBT people in Sweden and in 2008 was celebrated on 25 July-3 Aug.). They joined the network “Proud Parents” in the parade. The donor’s son is homosexual and usually takes part in the Pride celebrations for some years. The donor got the idea to make the calotte and the scarf (see NM.0329623) she herself wore, at last year’s [2007] Pride where she saw that some people had made their own rainbow colored objects. She looked at a rainbow flag and bought yarns in colours that she thought matched. She prefers natural materials and so she chose cotton yarn. When they carried them in the parade, they got some cheerful smiles when people saw the objects, especially regarding the calotte. Since her son came out as a homosexual a few years ago, they have talked about going to Stockholm and going to the parade. But last year they decided that it would get rid of. They thought it was such an awesome experience that they decided to go this year again, and will probably go next year too. Karin finds it poignant to see “mature people, adults of my own age, lesbians and gays, who stand watching the parade with tears in their eyes when they see Stolta parents.” It is also awesome with all applause and “especially when you get up at Södermalm with all the cheers.” Karin finds it important to walk in the parade to be visible and because it is not yet fully accepted to be a LGBT person.
