Abstract
This volume examines the archaeology of Knowth during the first and second millennia AD, and presents the findings relating to the use of the site from the Late Iron Age to the modern era. The huge array of finds excavated at Knowth associated with the period under consideration are presented in the main volume. A supplementary catalogue of the un-illustrated finds is also provided. A series of appendices deals with such topics as the metal content of a selection of the Roman, Viking, and Early Christian artefacts from Knowth; Strontium and oxygen isotope analysis on Iron Age and Early Historic burials around the main mound at Knowth; preliminary results from an analysis of from Thomastown Bog for and environmental history of the Brugh na Bóinne area; and the findings of a geophysical survey conducted on one area of the site at Knowth in late 2011.
