Abstract
Within the framework of this article it is achieved an analysis of 52 polished stone pieces discovered in the Eneolithic settlement from Carcaliu (Tulcea County). Before the presentation of the study they are made a few observations regarding the mentioned site, the context in which were registered the objects and the manner in which the available lithic material was previously analyzed. In methodological plan, for establishing the main identified categories in the settlement, it was considered the functional criterion.Depending on the characteristics of each studied object, were defined the types (e.g. the form) and the possible subtypes (e.g. the section, the ratio thickness/breadth, breadth/length).A special attention was granted to the discovery context and the object's preservation state. Simultaneously, it was determined the raw material for each object. In the same context are indicated the possible exploitation areas for the determined rocks.
