Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the curriculum related to the expressive activities of the University of Education and seek development directions in order to provide the foundation for strengthening the expressive activities teaching capabilities of elementary school teachers. For this purpose, a literature study was conducted focusing on a total of 11 universities of education across Korea. The current status and characteristics of categories, subject names, grades, and completion classification were analyzed focusing on the curriculum organization document, and the development direction for each curriculum section was inductively derived. First, the current status of the curriculum related to the expressive activities of the University of Education is as follows. The curriculum structure consisted of liberal arts, teaching, major, and advanced education courses. In addition, education related to the expressive activities is provided in liberal arts, major, and advanced education courses, and each curriculum shows different characteristics. Second, the directions of development of the curriculum related to the expressive activities of the University of Education are as follows. At the level of liberal education, discussion of the identity of the expression area and differentiated content composition as liberal education, at the level of 'major education', expansion of the proportion of education in expressive activities and establishment of convergence subjects, and at the level of 'advanced education', expansion of required courses and development of balanced subjects for teaching capabilities were found. Based on the results of this study, we propose research on domestic and foreign, pre-service and in-service teacher education courses related to the expressive activities, and development of subjects and teaching modules related to the expressive activities in universities of education.
